LS6 PCV Conversion (46934 views)
The LS1 PCV system is far from perfect, and GM moved one step closer to a better system by changing it around when the LS6 came out. The LS6 setup pulls crankcase pressure out from the more sheilded valley cover area, rather than a valve cover. While the results aren't spectacular, generally less oil will be sucked in over the same engine with an LS1 setup on it.

After installing this, I did notice less oil consumption, but it definitly has not been eliminated totally. The intake manifold still gets coated in oil and the intake ports are brown from oil. An LS6 setup with catchcan is probably the way to go for this.

Review:
I have mixed feelings on the LS6 PCV conversion, it is low-cost and does help a bit with oil consumption, but the time and labor involved in the installation would cause most less-experienced modders or newbies to steer away from it.

To install it on my engine, I had to cut a small piece out of the block- not a huge deal, but any operation other than bolt-off/bolt-on is tough to justify for this.

I used an additional cheap air-compressor filter to further help the system, but it's still not perfect. What's nice is getting rid of the extra pcv lines routed behind the intake and over the valve covers, which helps when doing other mods.

If you're up for the work installing this PCV system, I'd recommend it to you.
