Did you know?

The LS6 PCV system pulls its vacuum from the valley cover under the intake manifold,whereas the LS1 PCV system pulls its vacuum from the valve covers. GM changed this on the LS6 in an attempt to reduce oil usage. Its effectiveness is questionable, but it does make for a cleaner engine bay without all the PCV piping.

LS1 to LS6 PCV conversion So many LS1's have oil consumption issues and GM took a stab at fixing it on the LS6. In this article I show you how to convert your LS1 over to the newer LS6 style PCV system. This will require cutting away a small part of your engine block, however, it sounds a lot scarier than it actually is. This mod can be done for about $65 in parts. Infopic: Valve spring swap

This photo illustrates how to change a valve spring with an LS1 head still installed on the engine. An air hose is run to the spark plug hole to keep the cylinder full of air, which in turn holds up the valves so they don't fall when you try to compress the spring. The spring shown is probably the hardest spring to change on an F-body. Click for full image
