The heads between all the GenIII motors are interchangable. LQ4 (6.0L), LQ9 (6.0L), LS1 (5.7L), LS6 (5.7L), and LR4/LM4 (4.8/5.3L) heads are all interchangable. However, combustion chamber size, port volumes, and valve size does vary between these different head castings.
 
LS1 to LS6 PCV conversion
So many LS1's have oil consumption issues and GM took a stab at fixing it on the LS6. In this article I show you how to convert your LS1 over to the newer LS6 style PCV system.
